Update from NNDC - Corallie Martin, Community Connector – The connectors are there to co-ordinate, promote, support groups and be the centre of information for the community.  They can provide help and guide people to a central hub for information and support residents to avoid a crises situation. Help is available for those who are not online and there are also finance inclusion officers at NNDC who will help people with their finance and who will check if residents are receiving all their entitlements.  Information is targeted at lonely and isolated residents to ensure that communities are sustainable.  They hand out the Lions Green Tub – in this householders would place their medication in the fridge in case they go to hospital their medication is readily available.  Libraries are offering a warmhub/space together with free toiletries.  There is money available from the hardship fund which can be accessed.  A parenting hub should soon re-open at Northfield Road, North Walsham.  The connectors work with Poppyland Radio.  A QR code is available which provides an inter-active map and highlights where various groups are located.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL RESIDENTS SUPPORT OUR INITIATIVE TO reduce speed in the centre of the village from 30mph to 20mph and have been successful in our funding bid to Norfolk County Council and will alert you as it progresses.

It is disappointing to everyone that this project has taken man years to finalise it

has not helped with the objections from residents in the Parish who refuse to withdraw their comments.  This has taken up a great deal of time and monies which are financed by the community.

We were also successful with our re-surfacing bid for Crown Loke.

NEW ALLOTMENTS - AVAILABLE

We have created 6 new allotments for residents from the S106 funds received via the new Long Lane Development.  All these allotments have now been allocated.  If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please let us know.  Contact the Clerk via email and you will be placed onto the waiting list.

SAM2

SAM2 is an initiative by the Parish Council to try to encourage drivers to slow down and re-enforce the speed limit to road users. Every month volunteers move the unit and download this information which is published onto the website for residents and others to access. See SAM2 traffic data for June 2023.
